Shrine of the Presentation
In the "Maremma amara, afflicted by robbers, of poverty and malaria, in the eighteenth century a man found an oasis of peace. It was Paul Danesi Ovada, better known as St. Paul of the Cross, to erect the sanctuary dedicated to the Presentation of Mary most holy place in the Virgin indicatogli during an 'appearance. On Mount Argentario, to 210 meters of altitude, the founder of Congregation of the Passionist Fathers decided to build his retirement, destined to become the first novice of this Order.
Church
Outside the church has a neo-classical facade, built in 1856, framed by pilasters and culminating in a triangular pediment.
The interior of a Greek cross, rhythmically by columns, was to reflect in its simplicity and austerity of the strict rule. It was during the interventions of restoration began in 1781 that the church was embellished with cornices and stucco bas-reliefs of the Baroque style. They were also open two windows on each side and was repeated on the floor, brick Napolitain, majolica and decorated with floral motifs.
Among the paintings of some interest, please note the Madonna and Child with the Sacred Heart and St. Joseph, and worshiped the image known as Our Lady of Mount Argentario.
