Sacred Hermitage and Monastery of Camaldoli
Nearly 1000 years ago St. Romuald arrived in the heart of the Casentino Forests here and founded the primordial nucleus of the monastic complex on a strip of land donatogli Count Maldolo, which involves Ca 'Maldoli ie house Maldolo.
Built to complement dell'Eremo, which lies a few kilometers further up the monastery was enlarged over the centuries. In the fifteenth century it housed the Academy of Humanities which made the Lorenzo il Magnifico, and Leon Battista Alberti.
Among the areas of greatest interest should be reported with the refectory tables and stalls in walnut, a painting by Pomarancio, Lorenzo Lippi frescoes in the ceiling and wooden chests.
