Nap in peace rests on a hill between the Crete Senesi and the Val d'Orcia this monastic complex built by Benedictine monks in the fifteenth century. You'll take before this ancient monastic refuge, known in the past as nursing home in which they were accepted nurse Hana and the famous English Patient , Laszlo de Almansy during the filming of the award-winning film by Anthony Minghella. Among the areas of the monastery lies a special mention to the refectory, whose walls are adorned with a series of paintings by Antonio Bazzi known as Sodoma, depicting episodes from the life of Mary and Jesus which are the background landscapes inspired by the hills of Umbria and Tuscany.
